i think i have cried every time i have read this
this one really got to me too. the concept of being an outsider is such an integral part of the queer experience, and so is the concept of chosen family- the idea that a group of misfits can come together to live life the way they want in the freedom of each other’s company is so beautiful. not only are there so many different experiences portrayed in this, they’re all so meaningful and raw- a genuine look into queerness and what it means to be yourself.
hey what the fuck. hey what the FUCK. this is one of my favorite yuri series of all time and i will never read it again because it struck me so profoundly. god my heart is pounding just thinking about it.
it’s not really a romance,
but it IS one of the most amazing, world-changing, inspiring friendships i’ve ever seen from a comic; as well as a pretty brutally realistic depiction of a mental health breakdown and the trauma recovery process.
