An absolute banger. This is set in a world where random dungeons crop up and cause calamity if the boss isn’t defeated in a set amount of time. Traumatized restorer uke is strong armed into joining a fight in a series of dungeons by manipulative hunter seme. I understand why some side-eye the seme; until the very end, I really doubted if he actually loved the uke. This is like 80% drama/angst/action, 20% romance, and 0% spice. Still, I loved this. Great read.

Standard trope: rapey loan shark gangster has uke pay his father’s debt with his body. Gangster seme ends up regretting hurting uke after falling in love —> grovels —> reconciles with uke —> et voila! happy ending. It’s a pretty good read, albeit a stale trope. Plenty of angst.

Look, I get why this gets the hate it does. Shitty abusive rapey boxer seme basically pays poor abused uke to be his 24/7 on-call fleshlight. Only S1 is complete right now, and only in the last chapter do we see seme showing some semblance of reflection. His behavior has been appalling throughout so far.

This genre is my guilty pleasure. I love it so much. Should seme be forgiven? Probably not. But it’s heading there and I love this trope.

Guts and Griffith in another universe lol

Duke seme blackmails mercenary uke into becoming his plaything. Eventually, the duke actually catches fee-fees and they live happily ever after. My only gripe with this is that I wish we saw a little bit more of their happy ending.
