to be honest the the male lead was an asshole at first, but once you learn his past and his motivations, you begin to understand, especially those subtle moments when he begged the mc not to hate him or 'leave him' in a way, he gets attached and trusts only a few.
I swear the best smoothly written shoujo that I'm currently enjoying, usually when it's an otome game the author would often forget about the aspects like (penelope eckhart no offense i love u bbg) how restrictive an otome game really is or an novel and the main character is really punished.
Despite the main characters name being 'karen' give it a read. Out of honesty, in my view she probably bullied others as if it gave her power in her own meaningless life, her other mother would be verbally and occasionally physically abuse her. I know, this doesn't justify her behavior and some won't automatically forgive her actions in the past especially if she caused them so much harm. But, I believe some people are capable of change and improvement, even if they reject it
The angst with dad was so relatable, as a person who had to achieve a lot to feel "recognized" i did a lot of dumb shit in the process of doing so...but, hey at least the dad in the manhwa is a dilf
I don't know? I think it refreshing to see a short haired lady in a manga who isn't too buffy (not that I'm against beefy queens like slayy) But, the miscommunication towards each other is just *chef kiss*
I stg the fml (black hair and green eyes) family is superficial asf to the point that it's okay to murder someone and to blatantly hide it under the rug or, the "priest" father just condoned bad behavior and his negligence led to most of his kiddos becoming entitled and greedy. There's so much conflicts i literally stayed up to 5 am invested because i stared at my ceiling stressed out what could happen next.
rashta is homewrecker. No comment
The main character in this manhwa with the (black hair) isn't particularly the female lead, it's angsty because she believes and convinces herself she isn't worth or deserving of anything in their otome game world because she's a side character who is supposed to die (the art style changes kind of triggering)
There's a lot of angst near the beginning, as the fml tries to survive her old family and current family. But, otherwise it's pretty short and becomes very fluffy
I'm still waiting for the side stories, but besides I found it weird that Anastasia is technically an adult internally who got isekai'd into this novel and Lucas is an 1000+ year old magician and Ezekiel is basically a baby... Why is nobody talking about the large age gap? I liked the ending and how it's much different from the novel, you don't need a romantic relationship for it to be a happy ending.
