NITAKO I LOVE YOU..... i love the sloppy organic lines i love the volume in your shapes i love the silly expressions and the simplified forms i can feel in my heart how dedicated you are to using references and studying the figure..... this art is so good and chunky i want to chew on it
THE INTENTIONALLY DISCONNECTED LINES OUGHHH... THE IMPLICATION OF FORM RATHER THAN THE RIGID DEFINITION..... THE ART HAS SO MUCH ROOM TO BREATHE. THIS IS THAT PREMIUM SHIT
considering moving this one, but i havent decided yet. feels a little like a discount nitako. the style really shines during scenes with detailed hatching and emotional moments (this! artist! likes! to! draw! people! crying!) when the lines get less rigid/controlled and things get hazier, and those parts shine enough that im willing to let it stay for not.
shape language is something thats rarely utilized in bl and it REALLY FUCKING SHINES HERE. the style has just enough edge on it that its distinctive without being alienating, and the expressions are INSANELY good. plus the story itself is one of my absolute favorites this is an easy 10/10
LINE WEIGHT.... DELICIOUS LINE WEIGHT..,. AND THE HATCHING........ MASTERFUL
this style didnt appear to me at first and, yeah, its a little grotesque. but the expressions and screentones are super super good and unique, and the somber dramatic parts were brilliantly executed. ultimately a really tender and insightful story about being queer that felt personal and heartfelt. also the occasional little shitty scribbles are so so so so fucking funny
toes the line between realism and stylization so so so beautifully. everything is so tidy and polished without losing any of its expressiveness, the lines are super delicate but the characters are meaty and masculine its a wonderful contrast. i know the cover looks goofy but you HAVE to trust me here its really really good.
something about this looks a little stupid if im being completely honest but i like it anyways... lots of character in the art. the expressions are good and the jokes always hit, but something about it feels amateurish. i wish there were maybe a little more detail, or maybe finer lines? to make the graphic style look a little more intentional, but its still very good and im fond of it
it doesnt feel as fluid as the other stuff on this list but the way the author draws mouths and bodies hits just right every time.... i like it very much
oh this is great... something about the sketchy, simplistic style is really appealing. like, rough in a way that feels endearing and nostalgic instead of frustrating? it doesnt take itself too seriously which is GREAT for jokes, and in rhe last chapter i think it looks even better than in the main story. very good i like it a lot
