Front-ended a hugely traumatic backstory and then breezed past pretty much all of the aftereffects that type of trauma would have. FL says something like she "thought all men were evil but apparently ML is not." Except it took her all of a day (and a single chapter) to get to that conclusion ignoring the years of trauma that would have led her to that in the first place.
Just feels very surface-level and fast-paced, which typically doesn't work well for manhwa of this subgenre.
Read spoilers; don't want to read this.
FL takes a lot of blame and guilt for her family's actions when they weren't her fault. Her only 'sin' was ignorance but she became a scapegoat for hatred and the author apparently portrayed it like that hatred was something FL deserved. ML and FL end up together in a way that seemingly doesn't involve a lot of actual growth or redemption on ML's side. Not interested.
Didn't read. From the spoilers, it's apparently just super depressing and FL ends up abusing her own kid for a while, which is quickly forgotten for a "happy" ending.
Read to Chap. 48. Pretty much no consequences for all the morally corrupt stuff that happens to MC at the hands of ML. He literally brands MC and then it's barely mentioned again, and never talked about between MC and ML.
Read to Chap. 50. Fine concept. Poor execution. Just random time and setting jumps without explanation. Feels like no info is given and you barely know anything about any of the characters. Motivations? Goals? Backstories? Nothing.
Dropped at Chap. 60. FL's emotions are extremely erratic in terms of the story and what reactions make sense in a given situation while she simultaneously displays little emotions at all. Was bearable. It's not anymore. She forgives ML way too easily but seemingly despises her 'friend' as soon as ML returns. She saves a slave from abuse then slaps him in a situation when telling him to stop would have sufficed. Finally, she says she loves ML but easily dismisses his feelings.
Read to 43 then dropped. No sign of her identity being revealed and from comments it still hasn't happened at the end of the second season. Also feels like her having powers doesn't actually mean that much; I'd honestly prefer if she was just really capable but had to hide it because it would give her away as princess instead of hiding it just to not draw attention.
Dropped at Chap 16. I just don't understand why shrine didn't just run away with Siz the moments they were free. There's genuinely no reason for her to fight in the empire's war or serve the imperial family.
1/5. Just skip to the last chapter to find out why. Everything sucks, no resolution, sadness, and not enough pay off for all the drama throughout.
