First impressions: it’s out of pocket, absolutely balls to the walls, and it’s amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything like it before, nor will I ever read anything like it again. The art is phenomenal, the world is unique and the story is beyond rivetting. It tears on my heart strings. I love Jin, and I love Charin. And I am just absolutely devestated.
I love the art, it’s loose but both decisive and striking. And the story is just... so good. I want Najin to succeed in his revenge, but I don’t want him to lose himself to it and forego all sense of reason and self. The world is rich with personality, there’s so many characters I want to learn more about. Black Hen, Qilin and Dragon stand out to me as my favorite characters who aren’t Najin.
Just a note: Najin is weak.
No amount of words could be used to properly express how much I love this series. Its characters and their relationships, the worldbuilding and art, all of it coalesces into a wonderful piece of media that has me in a chokehold. Thanks Sung Hyunjae for irreversibly changing my taste in men.
An absolute roller coaster of a manga. I won’t say much to avoid spoilers but I felt like I was losing my head/frying my noodles, the entire time while reading. There are quite a few aspects of the manga that had me on the fence during my first read (i.e. strong fanservice in the earlier chapters), but what the story builds up to and the conclusion… it was satisfying to say the least.
Sometimes I’ll be existing and then this manhwa randomly comes to mind and as a result I cannot think about anything else for a while because of the impact it had on me. I read it for the first time so long ago but series that are like this just never leave you. It’s just so good and I’m just so very, very sad.
This series is just really near and dear to my heart, I first watched the anime years ago as a child, and every so often I find myself coming back to it and rediscovering my love for it.
No review, I just love them.
The beginning comes off strong to say the absolute least… and it’s clearly not a manga meant for everyone. But I like it, a lot, actually. It’s charming in a unique way.
Do be warned, there is a high chance reading this will make you feel sick.
I usually don’t pick up stories that contain crossdressing because of preference, but I’m genuinely so glad I decided to keep reading even after I found out. I love the art, while reading sometimes it feels like I’m watching a movie instead because of how cinematic the shots can be. This manhwa feels like a breath of air and my favorite segments are the flashbacks of the time spent in the summer house with the chairman. It fills my heart with warmth and joy.
I remember watching the anime way back when, I enjoyed it. Coming back after a while, I had some details mixed up, but I still enjoyed it just as much. The ending is overall happy, but I find myself in a spot where I’m sad because of how things play out. In some distant future I imagine a reunion of some sort. My heart goes out to Tenka.
