The tension is immaculate. It's like a messed up version of a slow burn. The world building is very good, like the world they live is actually real, I can feel the heat from the paradise they reside in. It's truly dream like. Until the facade breaks a little and reality sets in. That is how the two main characters grow towards each other. This manga truly knows how to make you on edge and connect with its characters. It's art.
Just amazing world building. I got so lost into the history of Aman that I couldn't stop reading it. The unique character designs ontop of it all, chefs kiss. There are some parts that I felt didn't hit as hard for me or thought could have been handled better. But it is a throughly enjoyable read to someone who isn't usually into fantasy world building stories.
There were so many parts to this. To assume it was indulgent manhwa with a porn industry trope but it turned out to be an analysis on the stigma and sensitivities of porn as an art form. I did not expect for it to be so profound. And the way it treats homosexuality in a realistic sense and not fetishizing it is also what makes Walk on Water an amazing read.
