Mc thinks that he's just in a game. Or more like, he deem the real world he's in as a game due to the system that he has. I feel like it's sort of defense mechanism in his mental part, but anyway since he thought of it as a game, he thinks some random guys he met are NPCs. Basically, in every game, NPCs are expendable, so he really doesn't care if lots of people are dead.
