I really enjoyed this manga! It almost got me emotional right from the start. There’s something so gut-wrenching about the idea of exes. just imagining someone else kissing the lips you once knew so intimately is devastating. this story was a satisfying read. watching the two main characters slowly rebuild their connection, relearn each other’s quirks, and fall back in love was heartwarming. just a little more polish in the writing and a slightly longer slowburn this wouldve been per
It's less a romance than a character-driven drama and historical fantasy. but godDAMN is the romance compelling. they have a will-they-or-won't-they romance that has me in knots. and the romantic moments it offers are sooo satisfying and feel really earned. Yona is so beautifully developed and it’s fairly safe to say that Akatsuki no Yona is a masterpiece for me. the amazingly depicted struggle of an unavoidable war creeping in and how much there is to sacrifice in order to avoid
OMG this was an EXPERIENCE. At first, I wasn’t that into the main couple, i was just treating it like a regular isekai since I didn’t feel much chemistry between the FL and ML. But once the romance actually hits?? Oh my god. It completely took me by surprise and had me kicking my feet and screaming. The train scene was life changing iykyk. And the payoff is so worth it. Read this for the slowburn you will not regret it.
The plot was SO interesting. I was completely hooked because of how layered/complex the characters and their relationships were. but I dropped it when the main couple turned toxic. it was SO well-written but gave me too much anxiety, and I couldn’t handle the time skip. I cried nearly every chapter. I read on bato.to bc the translation here is wack. I was obsessed with the FL’s dynamic with her bully, so complex and gripping. Honestly liked her way more than the ML. Lowkey wish it
This will always hold a top spot in my heart. this series is so dear to me it's so comforting I have such a soft spot for stories that blend romance with yokai lore, and this one’s the blueprint and the gold standard. If you’re into that, there’s truly no better place to start. I love it endlessly. Like most shoujo from its era, the romance is sort of back-and-forth. but honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s part of the charm!!!
This is one of the pillars of modern shoujo. it’s hugely popular and undeniably cute. I really love the main couple and their dynamic, but I wouldn’t say it does anything groundbreaking compared to other top shoujo out right now. Still, it’s absolutely worth the read and has earned its spot as a fan favorite. it’s a great place to start for people new to shojo!! the art is so freaking stunning and each character is SO PRETTY.
Don’t read this. Seriously. It ruined my life. But… if you want to feel like you’ve been shot in the heart 47 times and somehow still thank the shooter, be my guest. It hurt like hell, but damn, it hurt so good. UGHH i can’t even look at the cover or my heart aches.
If there’s one thing I’m embarrassed to admit, it’s that I’m absolutely obsessed with unrequited love. That trope will always have me in a chokehold. This story hit all of those marks. The ML is emotionally dense when it comes to the FL’s feelings, but that’s part of the package. I wouldn’t say this manga breaks any new ground, but if you’re a sucker for these tropes like I am, you’ll probably enjoy it just as much!!
literally just smut with a childhood friends plot. no i won’t apologize
more smut with best friends trope lmaooo are you seeing my preferences yet?

though i’d also be happy to discuss stupid stuff
Please feel free to ask questions about any of the manga on this list!!!! seriously, I would love it! I’m a massive ranter at heart, and there’s just never enough room in the review section to say everything I want to say. Cutting my thoughts down to a few lines is honestly PAINFUL sometimes, because I have so much bursting love for these stories and characters, and I always want to scream about them in full detail. If there’s a series you’re curious about, something in a review that stood out to you, or even if you just want to chat about a story we both love. I would be absolutely overjoyed to talk.
