I LOVED THIS although you could say that the story did get a little convuluted and maybe had too many twists, it was those twists that kept me guessing and hooked on the story the whole way through. It was so messed up and unpredictable yet that's what made it so fun. I'm honestly completely satisfied with this story. I loved how even with the thing that started up the story was gone, it still remained a driving point and never lost its importance. Beautifully delivered moral.
Didn't expect to cry reading this, and though I really only did reaaaally cry once, more often than not I found myself shedding a tear over the characters and their stories. This is a very character driven manga, and those are always my favs! The atmosphere in this manga was truly something else. Will fr check out the rest of urusawas work I've been putting off forever!!
All time favorite manga but due for a reread. I've read the start maybe... 5 times? But this manga is so difficult to stomach despite being so good, the imagery is so deeply unnerving yet beautiful. I love this manga, I found it when I was at a spot where I couldn't continue it, and I'm glad to come back to it ready to read the sequel. Update like 1 yr later: still haven't read the sequel lol. Not ready...
Classic! Absolutely obsessed with the vibe and characters of this manga. Such a memorable and iconic story that has managed to stay relevant over 20 years after it was published.
Incredible art and memorable characters. The only issue I had with this manga was that the mc felt a little unnecessary, it's clear he was added to add mystery and confusion to the perspective, but natsune could've served as a perfectly good mysterious protagonist. Mc felt like the one left out in a trio lwk The ending satisfied me, but i wished their was confirmation from yama too, like engraving in diff writing huhu...
Maybe this doesn't fit the other entries on this list but I will always be a blue lock girl. This has been a comfort manga since 2020 and reading it always makes me feel good. I love the characters!!!
Currently reading :re! Will probably add it later too. Loved this! At first i didn't understand the hype but I really couldn't stop thinking about it after reading and I began to like it more and more as I thought about it. Juuzou is one of my favorite characters ever love him sososo much.
I still prefer my dereast self w malice aforethought in terms of plot twists and story... but there were some really good memorable characters in this that malice didn't have. Lots of shit characters too tho. The onky stand outs were yuichi, kei, and tenji, the rest of the main cast got on my nerves every other chapter. I wish this was longer tbh and fleshed out the final reveals more + more kei!!!!
Holy shit. Def gets a bit confusing and there's still things I wish were explained a bit better but wow. Insane read. I've never felt so terrified yet inspired reading anything, such a unique story. Lots of similar themes to innocent! The way sakamoto using imagery as alegorys is unmatched. Def my fav author!!!!
My fav jojo part rn! Currently at the start of p7 but I loooveeed part 5 so much. It's exactly everything i love packed into one! The style, the characters, the fights!!!! Yes it definitely had its weak points, but man did the peaks peak. I love it sm!!!!!!!!!! Along with the rest of jojo of course, this is just my favorite part but jojos as a whole is a work of art.
