beautiful manga that's filled with interesting philosophies, character relationships, and plot! so glad I came across it!
warning: is kinda creepy around children (both teen and child)
HSL is about different forms of fucked up love, obsession, and promise. Art is so beautiful and cute but they still pull abstract and flat out horrifying character acts at the right moments. It's hard not to root for the characters, even with their fucked up methods.
Such an interesting idea, even with over 10 characters, you end up liking them for how they are- especially with the plot picking up and questioning their motives! it doesn't hurt that there's such a stylistic artist behind the helm.
once the plot hits, it hits hard. if you're interested after the first few chapters, it's a good idea to start following this story as the characters only get more "complex" in a literal sense. Who is the real villain? What are their intentions? it's hard to say as it goes on.
warning: dark themes with sex and money
I really love this mangaka's work, though it won't be continued for some time, as they were sick and tried committing suicide if you look at the comments.. I wish people saw more of their work, especially Gambare! Nakamura-kun!
warning: rape, manipulation
A beautifully drawn story of hair stylists who are trying to be successful, one just happens to be obsessed with the other. Harada doesn't play around in this one and portrays life changing events like rape just as it is: maddening, disgusting, and cruel. The real question is where the characters go from there, after everything falls apart. Won't recommend this for everyone, but it's a oddly intriguing as a convoluted story plays out before you.
warning: disfigurement, trypophobia, blood
a story of a yandere brother, learning how to confront past stigmas, and solving a mystery backwards. I think the story approach was its high selling point, followed by character chemistry and the desire to see everyone get out safely, even while knowing the prologue...
a new servant who wants to help, and a master who rejects his company. Theo is not overly clumsy or nosy like the general tropes and instead acts as someone who truly wants to become his master's friend and will stand for his ideals when accused. beautiful art, a mysterious conflict, and a very human story of getting closer to one another.
