This is a beautiful story and even though I usually stray from stories containing any rape elements, this story handled the topic respectfully. But I was definitely upset hearing about the author passing away.
I remember when I first watched the movie I cried extremely hard at the end, the manga was no different. I read this all in one night and cried (hard) before finally going to sleep.
