Best kid representation in media, ever. Core reading, even.
Made me cry. Explores forgiveness, repentance, and the actions owed to someone you harmed. Specifically, about a boy who bullied a girl who is hard of hearing. When they reunite years later, he apologizes in JSL.
If you only want to read one isekai story centered around a villainess, then this is the one. The protagonist doesn't just feel realistic, she genuinely feels like a person from our world trapped in myth. There is a level of respect given to both the protagonist and her 'real world' and to the people within this historical, mythical world that is rarely seen in other works. The struggle for agency, responsibility, and the context of the society she lives in is beautiful. Bi MC!
Core reading. Required reading. Cool world building and even cooler women. Also, really fun integration of prosthetics in the world!
To gain something, you must sacrifice in equivalent weight.
Rebuilding the sect with a strong focus on nurturing the newer generations instead of just focusing on the singular protagonist and their lackeys and passing that off as 'friendship'.
Beautiful and touching.
A sci-fi / fantasy fusion which contains both whimsy and horror. A good rec for people who typically don't read manga/watch anime.
Insane art and vibes. Masterfully tackles the internal and external conflicts of the cast that erupt organically as the reader slowly learns about the secrets of 'Kowloon'.
Top tier comedy.
Exploring girlhood and female-based friendships in a time-loop based zombie apocalypse is so based. Author, you are so cool. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a zombie apocalypse survival manga. Note that the time loop only exists for one person (so far) so the stakes are very interesting.
