Jirou Azuma has always been able to speak to animals, and aside from that and being a trained ninja his life is pretty normal. That is until he finds an injured black cat, which turns out to a be a powerful yokai suffering from memory loss. When he risks his life to save the cat the cat returns the favor by merging with the boy, gaining the interest of an organization made to eradicate yokai.
