Okay I HAVE to recommend any of this artists works!! They are a god when it comes to challenging themes that may make someone feel uncomfortable!
In this, the two teens are placed into certain situations that are out of there own control at no fault of their own and how they seemingly work through things as they find themselves reunited years later!!
Not much to go off but I’m adoring how they handle childhood trauma!! Also, you rarely see the inclusion of foster children and children homes! Excited to see how it’s evolves!!
A CLASSICCCCC!!!
This one really started this list. It’s an experience reading I don’t think I’ll forget (in the best-ish way?) it get very dark quick but the words of the teacher and the ending made it feel worth it
Handles being ‘different’ from others and navigating it!
This ain’t a shoujo obvi but it falls under the realm of the list. How hopes sometimes the best thing in life
Orange is a cult classic of this genre
Haven’t read this in a while but from memory the way they navigate a mothers loss was beautiful
I would say this def falls under dealing with complex topics and situations whilst forming a relationship
Girl went through HELL but also caused hell for some..
I’m adding this one here mainly because of the kings trauma- this is hardly written abt and it was interesting to see how he tries to become closer to Blanche and Abigail
