Okay, I really did like this but as a premise... it was unique, yet somehow generic? That's the only way I can describe it, and it just felt like the author didn't know how or didn't want to end the series because it dragged a bit towards the end and could really feel my interest being lost in real time.

Anything from this author makes my bones want to crawl out of their skin of prison, and beat whatevers left of my deflated corpse with a broomstick.

Okay, I don't like everything from this author, but I really feel like this was their magnum opus. There was grit, humanity, empathy and lack there of, it just had this beautiful frankensteinian quality.
