yeoreum (black haired guy) is so nice and thematically complimentary to the mc. he nurtures the mc trying to branch out from the monotony that was his life before he met yeoreum, and reintroduces him to so many things just consequentially because yeoreum loves spending time w mr lim. it's sweet, it's thoughtful, it's like if Call Me By Your Name wasn't so fucking weird and there is no unbalanced power dynamic.
the little blondie is a puppy dog. he encroaches on brunet's boundaries but never crosses them, and once they're together, it's like the lil brunet is all he lives for. i love it when a good top treats their partner right.
i just said "good tops", i didnt say it had to be a good story. (or even good art) i'm talking about the mc's sandy-haired uni situationship btw (which, i believe, is endgame) i am NOT talking about anyone else. word of precaution, this manhwa is littered with rape and abuse. it makes me want to put the author in jail it's so fuckin weird
bongchon. the top to ever top. the king of good gay men. you'd be hard pressed to find any other mc as "good" as he is. not only that, he's a family man, he's principled, and he's sweet to the other mc. not just sweet, he fucking treasures soongap. soongap's childhood sickly ex was a good man, too.
major simp. kinda weird and invasive. as in he lojacks the bottom. he's on thin ice, but i think he's still good, considering the other manhwa around.
yet another good man, savannah. this one's good. he fights for his love, but when the opposition comes from the man himself, he backs off and tries not to step on bottom's toes too much. it gets to a point, actually. this bl almost had me just going "fuck just get him" but really, i'm glad the top didn't. the bottom mc deserves gentleness and worship.
definitely good but there is a bunch of non-con between them. the whole thing is an hr nightmare. but the guy's good. he's a good man, a good partner, and a good father. he's sweet and protective and he doesn't let yi-rim get into his own head and drown himself in his own misery. yi-rim i'm gonna talk about in the "good bottoms" list because i love him too. i'm always a sucker for beautiful men.
picture this: a man, guilt-ridden and divided between a life he never had and a life he's duty-bound to adhere to. an assassin and a good boyfriend, a good friend before that. it's like watching a butterfly land on a flower. read this if you're into anguish and bittersweet hope. warning, though, this author has a penchant for drawing their effete protagonists a little bit on the younger side, which makes for an uncomfortable read. good thing there's barely explicit content in it.
