we start off with a light-hearted love story between a tall girl and short guy
little did i know that the spring caps were melting to leave a suffocating summer behind
in life, we often have our ups and downs
some are able to stay afloat while others are swept away by currents
whether we could've been their log or if it was simply a matter not within our control
life continues and passes on

i started this when i was younger, thinking it'd be a cute shoujo... but it's so much more than that. this is such a special little thing. it comforts you and tells you you'll be okay. it tells you that it's okay to fall and not get up for a bit because it hurts. and that you, your imperfect self, deserves love. i want my child to read this in the future. thank you so much for everything, fruits basket

because, love is not direct. oftentimes, it's in the spaces between our fears and worries
