i've only seen the anime cuz dear god araki's artstyle when he was evolving from bara to twunks was rly something.. but anyways PEAKK. i love more slice of lifey comedies w action. the main villain is also the best in the entire series imo.
the blueprint for all modern shounen and deservedly so. although dated in certain parts, it also has the peakest moments in all of action shounen (the entire dark tournament hello??). shame that togashi wasnt able to get a break and deliver the ending he wanted to.
as a science nerd ts was honestly so fun and it genuinely helped younger me get into science. combined with the unique setting, humor and genuinely nice character moments + development its honestly just peak. idk what else to call it. president peakson
okay so ik fujimotos a fucking weirdo but idk something abt his specific weirdness is so oddly human and none of his works better exemplify that than csm. the characters, the concepts, all of it feels so genuinely human despite being entirely fantastical and XD LOL Random at times. something i think about everyday, i'm not even joking. it has it flaws but this has carved out a weird little cozy abode in my heart.
ive never come across a work that so completely fits my dreams. a shounen with a colorful cast of side characters, drama, action and most importantly WELL WRITTEN plot. it also doesn't help that the main couple is exactly my type a rugged ignorant detective and a kind beautiful yet mysterious & cunning lead. combined with the fantastical worldbuilding and cinematic storytelling its like the author wakes up & asks themselves "how should i make lebron happy?"
i shit myself laughing to this. i love every single character and couple. it also does something where.. idk how to explain it but every character feels bisexual? or at least bi coded. idk i just thought that was nice. even if not explicitly queer, almost every single character has non stereotypical-hetero characteristics or hobbies. also shoutout for birthing my fav straight couple, hori x kashima.. my goats.
on every single other social media my pfp is koro-sensei. i have koro-sensei keychains, koro-sensei plushies. my first doujin was a karma x nagisa doujin... yeah this work means a lot to me. good characters, great character development, great action, shit myself sobbing at the ending. its only flaws is the fact that it falls into shounen dynamics (too much fanservice, trying to pair up too many characters).
one of my first animes. i just love its everything too much. the villain of the week format, the characters, the outfits, the VIBES. i appreciate the queer themes in this but tbh its clamp, authors of such heat as "kakyoin did you lay this egg?" so idk what i expected from them. it bothers me how much pedophilia there is. like sakura's classmate & her teacher, and sakuras mom and dad having met as student and teacher.. idk ik sex doesnt exist in their universe but weird still.
im not normally into body horror but this ones different man. the arts so fluid and beautiful. it started to drag when they met j's brother imo but the ending... that ending wow. just pulled everything together. im such a sucker for a good ending. beautiful and haunting story about the cycle of abuse and obsession.
before there was sangyang to fill the gaping hole of "well written action drama that also happens to have a gay couple in it" in my heart there was beauty & the west chamber. great comedy, well written plot and characters along with great side characters w their own arcs. also the title, beauty as in "beauty & the beast" & west chamber as in "romance of the west chamber" showing western & chinese influences coming together in the republic of china
