To me, this manhua is a classic. I can say pretty confidently that I only started drinking tea because of this series!

Top tier, and I would even go so far as to call it peak romantasy manhua. Going back to reread this is pretty funny because the art in the first few chapters is slightly different, but the artist clearly hits their groove and sticks to a consistent style after that.

If I were asked what my favorite manhua of all time is, it would probably be this one. The aesthetic is so uniquely Italian Renaissance, and I love how the premise uses the Medici family as inspiration. The writing is very strong with great characters and no plot holes! Tia x Perez forever!!!

Cosplay lovers unite and read this manga!!! What a love letter to crafting and fandom, with unique characters who explore different facets of the hobby. I particularly adore the way traditional Japanese craftsmanship is depicted in harmony with modern tools and styles. It’s a great conversation about artistic ethos hidden under bewbs.

Is it just me or does this manga feel like a mix between Lord of the Rings and Dungeons n Dragons? The way the story follows a special boy who goes from level one to epic fights with god is very DnD, but the well structured lore and depth of character gives LotR. Whatever the case, I love both and this manga deserves acclaim.

I am DEVASTATED that this got canceled. Absolutely top tier villainess manga and I don’t even like tsunderes. The complication that the people who know the story have limited communication with the people inside the story is really interesting.

I like how this story writes childhood trauma. Too many series write a kid as easily persuaded to just “get over it”, but here the FL gives the traumatized ML plenty of time to heal while also challenging him. And the ML never fully recovers, if you want to call it that. It’s a part of who he is now, and the people who love him understand that.

Close runner up for favorite manhua, if only for the stunning visuals. The richly colored and textured artwork evokes a fairytale baroque wonderland, which is just right for the subject and themes of the story. I also love the complexity of the FL’s mother, which others may find controversial.

The fact I reread this immediately after finishing it for the first time should tell you everything you need to know. It grapples with doubt and grief and self-loathing, and art’s ability to bring an artist closer to their true self. But ultimately it’s about a boy who wants to make his mother smile.

Incredible take on a “reformed” villainess, who truly is still a manipulative, ruthless, and obsessive person. But thanks to the love of a reincarnator, she’s been let loose on the world at large and her only goal is to ruin that stupid heroine who hurt her world.
