Looking back Solo Leveling isnt anything all that special - it's actually pretty typical for the genre.
However, I cannot deny how much fun I always have reading this, it never fails to get me out of a reading slump. It's dumb fun where you don't have to think while reading - you just read and have fun without asking too many questions :) (no thats not always a bad thing stop being an elitist, youre annoying)

These two are so pure, they hold a special place in my heart. No love triangle (well ig maybe kinda but not really), no drawn out plot, just a story about two gay guys realising they're falling in love.
Also the the side character are amazing I love them sm.
I LOVE THESE TWO SO MUCHHH AAAAAAA!!!!!! THAT THIRD ACT BREAK UP THO FUCK U AUTHOR GET A NEW PLOT DIVICE.
That being said, there is stuff i dont like such as a love triangle. However, the love triangle doesnt last and the third act break up is somewhat believeable yk. So the overall amazingness of this manga outweighs the annoying stuff, such as amazing character development, well written characters in general. Actually LIKEABLE characters, cute sweet fluffy romance. Just all round pure <3
This had no buisness being as good as it was. Like seriously.
l read it a whim while looking for smthin else, but when I tell u it hooked me.... IT HOOKED ME IN. The premis of it is so interesting, the characters all have flaws, but in a realistic kinda way? None of them are perfect, but thats what makes them weirdly likeable. The romance plot feels natural and doesnt overshadow the main plot, it compliments and assists the story. You think you know whats happening/where the storys going, but no
I love everyone in this so much. They're all adorable and loveable and i would die for them in a heart beat.
Normally fml like this annoy me but this one is done correctly. She's emotional, and a bit of a cry baby and a typical damsel in distress that thinks she can protect herself, but this one actually has a brain ! She knows her limits, doesnt get lost in her emotions, and doesnt make stupid choices for "the sake of others" bec its what she IMAGINES theyd want when she realistically doesnt

Love all the characters apart from that short green hair girl shes annoying EDIT ON THIS: I reread recently and watching the anime and shes not as bad as when I was younger, but i still dont really like characters like hers. I always feel like the author is forcing me into feeling bad for them so it has the opposite affect iyk wat i mea.
I read this many years ago when I first started reading and was much younger with bad taste.
However, this is the only one that has stood the test of time - The art is beautiful, the characters are cute, the romance will have you kicking your feet in the air. Short and sweet, and nothing unnecessary added.
