i like how the main character was handled a lot, a lot. the narrative following a sex worker who struggles to trust and falls victim to the same system he so desperately wanted to escape— becoming a perpetrator himself— is one i havent read that often. the story painfully delineated the actions caused by trauma and neglect from people in power who could actually help. (ive a much longer review of this on my tl so anw why wont they let me write everything down ugh)
