It's a toxic revenge-political-romance, an overall violent story and a tremendously well written plot that will keep you on your toes to know what will happen next whilst making you blush everytime the leads meet (not in a cute way).
you like a tyrant ML who will put on edge every single time he shows up and a FL who's trying to escape him, but at the same time can't help falling for him. That's the story for you. Guys, this story gave me anxiety, I swear. For the first season, I was like: my gosh is this a romance?
Trope: tyrant emperor x no-guts FL
Of you're into a very possessive and cruel ML. That's for you. You'll never understand Ranrich's line of thought, that's part of his lore, but you will hate him to the core, I guarantee. This one of those stories yo won't feel sorry for the ML even if his past is the worst case scenario you can imagine.
Trope: Tyrant crown prince × "Saintess"
you like it when a cruel ML finds a FL that doesn't give a damn about a thing and just wants to stay alive (not that much). Here's your cup of tea. He's in the position of power, but he can never win against her poker face.
Trope: conqueror x slave
A suspense/mystery mixed with a very hot romance between a rent assassin and his prey. If you like a controlling ML and a smart FL. That's the story for you. But please, don't read the second season.
Trope: Assassin × prey
Well they’re both extremely unhinged and morally grey character in the first place.
"They’re both psychotic and I love it. She’s hellbent on revenge, he’s broody and has something to prove. Their romance is a slow-burn and it’s just so much fun to watch her wreck shit in the name of revenge."
When I’m talking about a kind of reading that is filled with anguish. I often come across stories that, while I do enjoy them, usually feel mediocre to me. this time I can truly say I was very satisfied with the ending of the storyIt’s not like other stories where forgiveness is portrayed as a cure-all or where the power of love is seen as the ultimate solution. Instead, this work tackles its themes with a much more realistic approach
It started strong with its angst, tragedy, yandre villainess vibes. it was okay than many manhwas out therethe FL transmigrates into the body of the villainess, who has forcibly captured/brainwashed the ML into falling in love with her/acting as her slave.
The FL tries to undo the brainwashing, but this just makes the ML more psychotic, eventually kidnapping the FL and using magic to take away her sight/hearing so that she has to depend on him
"Don't worry, main ml is hot as hell and also a potential yandere (since he's a mage and based on the story mages obsess and care for only one person, object or idea)."
The manhwa is praised for its emotional depth and realistic portrayal of characters. "It's an incredibly written and well-grounded story especially for the genre it's in."
There are wholesome scenes and many dark depressing scenes, but I think how the comedy sometimes cuts in at awkward timing is rather unusual
