Deals with a lot of issues about gender identity and discusses gender expectations and misogyny in todays society. I lovee how straight forward and earnestly these topics were brought up, it definitely gave me a different perspective on things.
The mc is a genderless alien (who wishes to be a woman), who crash landed onto onto earth and in a series of events ended up joining a male kpop group alongside her friends.
Keep in mind this manga is from the 80's so its a bit outdated.
Hibari-kun is my idol though, shes a queen and she knows it <3 even though she deals with so much period typical transphobia she always comes out on top and i love her for that, also SHE'S LITERALLY a fashion icon, i may have taken outfit inspo from the manga a few times.
A trans male mc that i ADOREE. This manga deals with feelings of dysphoria and struggling with acceptance </3
the fashion in this manga is also FIREE
The character Renri is a transman. The mc mistakenly refers to him with she/her pronouns (in his thoughts) but corrects himself soon after. This manga does deal with its share of transphobia, misgendering and misogyny from a few secondary characters though </3
My favourite character Togata is a transman and l literally cried in this one scene (kind of spoilers) where he talked about his gender dysphoria, i love him sm </3 such a complex and well-written character.
I feel the need to put a TRIGGER WARNING for this one though, its an incredibly dark manga. so beware of this: cannibalism, sexual violence, gore, incestuous themes. I might be missing some things so tread lightly
Chapter 1-2, mc is a transman! Deals with the fear of coming out to your parents and gender dysmorphia, a bit of body horror too. So impactful and has so many heartfelt scenes. The mc gets gender reassignment surgery too <3
