Its about as boring as boring could be. Omegaverse literally adds nothing to the story. The uke is the worst most stereotypical uke ever. With each issue that arose there was little to no communication. I think people are so genuinely tired of noncon/dubcon that they were like "ML is sooooo green" but just because a dude is nice doesn't mean the story deserves a 9 rating. Come on people.
I just HATED the art. The uke looks like Tweety Bird. Actually all of em look like Megamind. Its about proportions people! You can't make the eyes start halfway down the head. Normally when i hate an art style I won't finish it but i guess the gourmet theme gave me some hope... def not worth it.
Ok so premise: this has a gourmet theme. On the first page, bro is taste testing something and says "It could have a little more flavor since most of our customers are guys." Now idk if that is a mistranslation, but right off the bat i'm pissed. IN WHAT UNIVERSE DO MEN PREFER STRONGER FLAVORS??? What kind of ingrained misogyny is this? The story itself is not so bad, but i had to put it here because i reacted so strongly to it.
Seme was an asshole. There. I said it.
CAPITAL YIKES. Bro if that were me, finding out the truth, I would've punched that guy so hard that he went flying through the fucking window. Then he really would be a ghost.
The age gap was questionable, not even sure if it was legal because they were very vague about it. But that def wasn't the only questionable thing about this story. Rich people family dynamics really this fucked up? Really? Guess i'll prolly never know.
Its so dry its like it came straight out the damn Sahara. I kept reading it because I was just waiting for something, ANYTHING, to happen. But sadly, not shit happened. And its 73 fucking chapters. Straight up torture.
Idk it just didn't really do it for me. I've read a lot of callboy stories and something about this one just felt a little weird and too fast paced. Maybe if both stories had their own volumes it could've been better.
This is one of the first BLs I read and honestly, I wished I could flush it down the toilet. The characters are so dull, and that goes for their personalities and for their looks. The plot was a mess, and I just really can't with the "upgrading to a newer model" plot. You clearly aren't thinking about the consequences of what happens after you get together with the son of the dead guy you loved for years.
I felt genuinely angry while reading this. I don't think the author understands a thing about mental health at all, and then the side couple literally never got a finale. Like did they move in together? We will never know...
