I remember reading this as a child and relating heavily to the way Hyun-su tight roped between ideas. One suicide and a longing to escape from his pain. Another, an understanding that this escape would only give his pain to others. I really love how this story talks about suicide through its monsters, atleast that's how I've always seen it. It holds a really special place in my heart
This was one of the first stories I ever read and it still holds a special place in my heart. I hope Lewis can be reborn and live his life with someone who loves him the way he loved others. This is my sixth reread and this story means so much to me, it makes my cry everytime. I hope Lewis can be reborn where he can travel and do everything he wants in his life and be more selfish in how he shares his love and I'm glad that he felt this love in his last moments, even though it was too late
This was a story I read when I was a lot younger and I remember it really sticking with me, after reading it again I can finally see why I remembered it though it's been so long. The story is fairly short and tells the tragic story of a mermaid who survives off of eating men's hearts.
I always loved this story and it's incredibly well known
I relate to chunks of each character, like bums fear of abandonment and unstable dependency on sangwoo. As well as Sangwoo in his attempt to find replacements for his mother in yoonbum resulting in the unpreventable degradation of them both. The story is so well written I couldn't go without adding it to the list
This truly changed how is see the world, it was just so incredible
