my fave bls (with reviews)

SOLID BL school music manga with a beautiful anime (that I saw first before reading)! It does favour a lot of side couples tho and can be quite slow since it's also a slice of life, which are two of my pet peeves, but you'll love the main storyline even if you share my feelings. They're too cute, and the story has a lot of deep messages to tell; I can't help but rate it highly <3

A manhwa with a sweet, unexpected vamp x human dynamic and a nice amount of drama. It does have some pacing and logic issues, which brought the score down for me, but the main ship, like with Given, is a big pull for me and keeps me coming back to reread those parts :)

Now, THIS is what I would call the perfect romance mystery manhwa. It's both completely about the pairing while also being completely about the story that they're trying to tell. It's interesting, entertaining and sweet. A must read imo

So I read this for the first time when I was maybe 16. It's been almost a decade, and it still holds up. School boys falling in love, popular dude x less popular, cute, well-written and all-consuming. You won't regret reading this; I can promise you that. It also has a drama CD you can use to read along with the whole manga. DO THAT!

This one is a weird one for me bc like I REALLY enjoyed it, and ofc it's a manhwa about cameras and perception and university and boys loving boys, but it goes through some evolution. Where we start at the beginning is not where we end, so just be ready for a lot of disorientation and reframe (ha) your expectations. That way you'll get the most out of the main and side ship ;)

Talking about disorientation omg I'm such a sucker for amnesia/memory loss story. SUCH a sucker. This was so good, a manhwa about a mentally unwell delinquent gets memory loss and winds up entangled with some random loser at his school. It's fun, and while I usually don't like this sort of dynamic or characters, they dealt with the premise so well that I couldn't help but root for them!!

Vampires aren't going to appear frequently on this list, as they aren't my fave trope so you best believe that when they do, the story is good. This short(-ish) and concise manhwa is about a vamp and something else (?) finding one another irresistible. It knows what it wants to say and it says it. Nice read!

A comfort manga of mine~ Two cuties who don't know what love is explore it through art, passion at their school. It's just so sweet reading this; good vibes only from two distinctly different personalities, you'll smile while reading this :3

EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT VAMP STORIES APPLIES HERE!!! The political drama, the wonderful smut, the transformations, the action! The characters might not have moved me as much as I want, the point of the story might be less clear than some of the others, but it's entertaining from start to finish so I rec it for sureeee

A perfect manga from maybe my fave bl manga creator! We have supernatural intrigue, great emotional beats, fun dynamics, a side couple that complements instead of feeling like it takes time away from the main couple, even some political drama and moving moments all within 19 chapters! This is what you call EFFICIENT story writing <3
