A prime example of "your actions have consequences," and the character development throughout the story is honestly chef's kiss. Yoon Bum & Sangwoo's unhealthy obsession with one another is exactly what I want to see more of in dark fiction.

Personally, I wasn't the biggest fan of Painter of the Night, and I highly doubt I'll ever consider rereading it. The plot progression was good... sort of? Despite its popularity, it was one of my least favorite toxic "romance" stories.

I absolutely adore this kind of art style (in a way, it reminds me of Checkmate). It combines the goofy and cute artwork with the "you can't leave me" element to make it seem a little more grotesque and eerie.

The rape scene was so unnecessary. Overall good story, just those few chapters of Lee Won being shot, kidnapped, drugged, tortured, and raped by the ML over a misunderstanding made me drop the manhwa all together. Not only was it unneeded, but for Lee Won to forgive Caesar only a few chapters later was baffling to me.

Cliff, my beloved, you deserve more chapters. Honestly, he’s the only redeemable seme in this entire story. Sure, the plot might be a little slow, but we’re finally making progress (kinda). And the art style? Oh, don't even get me started. Even without a solid plot, the way the characters are drawn so flawlessly makes the read worth it.

(noncon bdsm, exhibitionism, kidnapping, sexual assault, torture, physical & emotional abuse, watersports, puppy play)
The exhibitionism was stretching it a bit, considering the man didn't move or speak during the entire SA scene. But all things considered, it's short and sweet. I wish there were more chapters so we could find out more about what led to the MC's current situation.
