Really liked this unique premise of seme being a demon who feeds off of the emotional value of a human's words. Author's other works are just as great to read (also look for their other works under 'Toujo'). Each story has an aspect I can do without, like how this one has a third wheel with a helpless crush on uke. But the majority of the story makes up for those aspects.
The smut in this author's stories are always good, even if the "plot" is kinda ridiculous. This one has seemingly emotionless seme taking advantage of uke's gullibility to quite literally, hypnotize him into falling in love. Did he need to do that to accomplish such a thing? No. Did he do that because it's easier than using your words like a normal adult? Yes. Probably also cuz uke just makes it so gdmn easy.
I really enjoyed the premise of a person's blood tasting different depending on the vampire's affection towards them. It drove home just how precious uke's blood is to seme, since it belongs to uke specifically. I also like how not only straightforward and upfront uke is, but genuinely sweet without pushing his opinions. He just states what he thinks and leaves it to seme to make his own conclusions. Which, ofc, is that he loves uke very much.
I was surprised by how long this went on, considering this is the fluffiest, least dramatic manga yaoi I've ever read. Like, seriously, I found myself wanting a little bit more than the sheer cuteness that existed every chapter. But at the same time, they are part animal and animals being hurt hurts my soul. So go ahead and read this without worry, fwens.
Mangaka has great works on her roster as well (one of them is in my faves). Seme was a playboy until he met uke, and it's as if he did a 180 in his attitude, with how quickly he became devoted and cuddly to uke. But actually, he really is an orgasm-chaser, with how difficult it was for him to stick to non-penetrative sex with uke. He tries super hard to not pressure uke tho...he just also fails hard at it.
This was a nice friends to lovers portrayal. Both think it's unrequited love until alcohol gives uke liquid courage then BAM. Progress, finally. It kinda feels like there's something lacking in the story, but there's no rape, so yey. Author's other work is good too!
Lol this is a popular one with good reason. I, too, would prefer an older man to whisk me away with fallen laundry...but tbh, I'd probably prefer uke who's actually good at housekeeping and would help me out with it. Seme is the rich director who'd outsource work. Either way, this manga is like the definition of a Meet-Cute. There's also a sequel in author's other works, where seme and uke work through their first fight.
This was so over the top but I loved it. When seme crouched down to receive uke's hug and uke was just "YIPEE", I laughed so hard. These two drama kings match so well together, especially since they're different kinds of drama kings. Uke is the unstoppable force while seme is the immovable object. Author's other works are joyous reads as well.
This one was so cute! Uke's soul or whatever gets temporarily transported every night to seme's stuffed black cat. This is to seme's absolute luck given by the yaoi gods, as he has been aching for uke for a very long time. Would love to read the spin-off between the brother and his own uke. Author's other work is also entertaining.
ANAKONBAYASHI-KUN. That was a fun moniker. I really liked this because uke was so lovably dumb and seme fell head over heals over that lovable dumbness. There was also just continued rounds of cuteness pretty much every chapter, making me laugh at these two's antics. 5 entire volumes of it, whoohoo. Author's other works are cute too.
