There is way too much rape here for me to fully enjoy reading this manhwa, but, well...at least it's not between the gong and su. Pitiful silverlinings, I guess. The gong--as kind, funny, and respectable as he is--is the reason why I stuck it out with this manhwa and still have some affection for it. He's the one to give su a second chance at life and is totally devoted to making su happy. He full-heartedly deserves the su.
Omg this manhwa was so fkkn chaotic. There was a reenactment of a fanfic here at one point and there was a moment when I genuinely wondered who, where, and why I am. Anyways, gong and su are both beefy eye candy. Su is also caught up in debt and gong finds a way to help him without--GASP--sexually assaulting him. Mind blowing. There was also a side couple with gong's brother and a sunbae. It was a good read as well.
Moscareto's works are classic must-reads. This one is my fave of hers. It has a detailed look into office politics. Seme is uke's superior and he takes uke under his wing. And in the end, seme does something entirely out of character in order to support uke better. And that's just it--he uproots a long-held belief of his for uke's sake. Two big thumbs up.
This is a good and respectable ABO. Seriously, there is mentions of assault, but it's really due to the aspect of being in an ABO world where pheromones can drive ppl crazy. Probably the only thing I'd complain of is how these two get together after a crapton of push back from both sides...it just seems a little unexpected, like the manhwa missed a few chapters from the novel.
Spin-off to series directly before this one. I liked this couple and the story better than the first one actually. They're more compelling in that they have complicated ties that, both, made then broke their first connection. In the end, they learn how to remake their connection with more openness and honesty. There's better pacing in this one...at least, so far, but I actually read the novel for this, so we'll see how the manhwa does.
...Gong is extra unhinged here and turns su's genitalia from penile to vaginal. Yeah. I'm not even sure how to end this summary. So. Bye.
Su is the first one to get a crush on gong, who is used to being crushed on and being given confessions. But there's something in the quiet, defeated demeanor of the su that draws gong to him--until he no longer wants to part. It's a cute read with extra cuteness from the title pages sticky notes.
"Su: If I were smart, I could advise you...but I'm worthless. // Gong: If you had been smart, you would not have liked me in the first place...thank goodness you're not." PFFFFFT. THIS LINE. FKKN GOLD. This could apply to sooooo many bottoms in BL fiction, like holy hell, I can name 5 right off the top of my head.
I'm surprised by how cutesy this ended, considering how this all started with...uh, assault, confinement, enslavement, surveillance, and near gang rape as started by gong. I mean, it's impressive how lightly everything is taken in this manhwa lol. Shut your brain off for this one, fwens.
This was so cute and heartwarming! Su ends up quitting archery after a shoulder injury. Through the power of the BL gods, it becomes an erogenous zone. Either way, he has been gong's inspiration into joining archery so, of course, gong will have to help out his idol in the smexiest way possible.
