On the surface it's a fun, heart-warming adventure about Coco adapting to a newfound world full of magic and mystery. As you keep going, you'll find that the manga is hiding something sinister between each flip of the page. Shirahama does an absolutely amazing job at discussing inequality, morality, and meritocracy.
This is such a devastating manga. I have no words save for how much I feel for both Shii-chan and Mariko.

I like how tragic some of these stories are—reflecting the realities a lot of women face within Japan. I also enjoy the multiple perspectives and what seem like "major" life events happening behind the scenes. It sort of reminds me how fast-paced the world is.
