This novel is SO FUCKING GOOD. I really hope the manhwa gets an official translation because I want to give the author money.
Solid and creative plot, a great cast of characters, a healthy relationship where feelings develop naturally.
Smut: AMAZING. There isn't a ton of it, and I'm glad. What there is is very well-placed, doesn't distract from the plot, is hot, intimate, and absolutely gold star when it comes to consent and mutual enjoyment. Bonus: both MCs are bisexual!
Apparently I really like themes of survivors' guilt, PTSD, and anxiety/depression because this is another one that tackles them. Very well, I think. Like a few others here, MC is the sole survivor of a fight against catastrophe, and absolutely plans to die once he returns to present day. It's really interesting to track the change in tone as he slowly finds a reason to live instead.
Smut: not overwhelming, very hot and very consensual.
TW for suicidal ideations.
This is so good, it tackles issues like PTSD, survivors' guilt, and depression really well. ML seems like an ass at first but he's actually really sweet and empathetic and good for MC. The main story is R15, the sides are R19. Ther manhwa is excellent, though there's been a bit of smut that I think shouldn't have been there because it clashes with the overall somber tone of the story, but YMMV. Some of the side stories in the novel get VERY weird.
TW for suicidal ideations.
The manhwa is very true to the novel and I love how it depicts the gorgeous visuals of Yiseon's restoration power. You do get more character insight from the novel, but the big thing is the side stories. They're not part of the manhwa and it's so unfortunate because they really give more insight in Hyeon and Yiseon's relationship. The main story is R15, the sides are R19.
TW for suicide, and the first sexual encounters are dub-con at best, because this is Korean BL.
Unfortunately this is just a promo for the novel; I really hope it gets made into a real manhwa because the novel lends itself perfectly. The book is a lot of fun, MC is no one's pushover and ML is this hardened, feared Duke who's actually very gentle and is absolutely obsessed with MC in both human and hamster form (not in a gross yadere way.)
So far the manhwa is very true to the novel, which means it's fucking adorable. Jeonseo is so cute and despite his innocent personality, he's not a pushover; Yoontae is pretty indifferent to everyone but his boyfriend, for whom he is down bad to a ridiculous degree. This one's green from start to finish, no real complaints about the smut. (Which only starts after they come of age.)
The side stories are lovely, checking in on our boys well into adulthood.
