do these situations happen in real life? lack of chemistry between the 2 main characters

just meh overall - in terms of art, story line and character progression - not really sure where the story is going, and I don’t particularly find the main character to be that interesting, just a typically overly earnest individual to the point of naivety. (Orphan girl goes to gifted school, inexplicably makes friends with all the richies, her dad is the emperor yet the school is so close to his palace that he’s pretending to be a professor to meet a child he’s seen like 4 times)

72: do I want to continue? It just seems like trauma upon trauma with no clear pathway to hope or freedom, I understand the intrigue of seeing a character full of morality slowly degrade - and that aspect was done quite well to be fair, but the story needs a chapter or two to alleviate the tension, you cannot be always on edge otherwise it’s just demoralising and puts the reader off. The smut is just super randomly added in and doesn’t seem to add. Maybe come back when fully complete?

just boring tbh, man proposes randomly to girl to get over his first love, girl proposes contract marriage, man will obviously fall in love with her but she won’t be able to accept the change in feelings… this is too generic

the ML is just drawn super ugly at times and it really puts me off wanting to read the rest.
