i stopped reading it about 85% in because i liked it sm. one day i'll finish it. unique concept, artstyle is kinda dated but detailed, and an almost fully female cast? the characters are possibly its strongest point for me and the weakest would be the "romance". blegh. were it not for the romance this would be perfect.
9.5/10
god i love the art SOMUCH!!!
short but no less devastating. somehow their relationship can be read as mother/daughter and also lovers. the desperation of wanting to help/save someone who's so mentally fucked up while knowing you can never reach them? i would strongly recommend the movie adaptation, i actually sob every time i watch it.
10/10
this doesn't really have a strong storyline but i don't believe that's necessary if there are other things that compensate for it. here it's by the characters and artwork. it's cute and sad and left me somewhat despondent, the ending wrecked me.
9.5/10
somehow i am both the mother and son thank you. this fucked me up a little, overall great esp the first half however! the latter half specifically after mc is an adult is a bit disjointed imo and thus, the ending didn't quite pack the punch it could have. still very good.
johan literally my fav character ever i love u baby. plotwise i cannot tell u how well-written it is, i couldn't stop thinking about this for a while after that ending. pacing is my least fav aspect but then again it's just due to my personal preference, objectively the pacing is good. strong characters, plot, art, everything. the only reason it's not a 10/10 is because it was too dreary for me and i prefer faster pacing.

short chapters yet very depressing. i really like getting a different story every chapter. and some of the panels are genuinely horrifying or maybe i'm just a scaredy cat. also yuuma my baby every adult in your life failed you.
beauty is pain. ririko is a bitch i love. artwork is a bit plain but i love the style. i liked the movie a lot more though, soso gorgeous visually.
art is so yummy, very gothic. not my fav plot or character-wise but i don't think that was the aim.
colored manga!!! such a visual feast.
