MUSIC RELEVANCE: music is central to the plot. story takes place in a light music club, witch the main characters competing and learning to play instruments. doesn't go deep into the technical aspect of music, but moreso on how it inflicts emotions upon others.
TYPE: bands, rock music
PERSONAL: SO FUN. the characters are interesting, and the story knows when to take itself seriously and when to be funny. i love passionate mcs, seeing them pursue something so wholeheartedly is endearing.
MUSIC RELAVENCE: central to the story. its directly tied to the fate of the mc and is also what allows her to actually connect with others via supernatural possession or her relationship with her students.
TYPE: classic rock, grunge, blues
PERSONAL: perfect amount of wacky and introspection. who doesn't love the summoning of ghosts to your own benefit!!! music connects us all and is our lifeblood yup lets all pursue our passions.

MUSIC RELEVANCE: music is heavily involved with the mc's profession and arcs/chapters are dedicated to music block/music development but the music is overshadowed by the fantasy elements of the story and the deep interpersonal relationships (not a bad thing)
TYPE: idols, music composition
PERSONAL: my fave idol story of all time largely because the descriptions aren't flowery/vague. deeply enjoyable and immersive but still adhered to logic i can follow. + nuanced characters mmmmm
MUSIC RELEVANCE: sorta like blue period in the sense it explores the technical aspects of being in a marching band and also the characters' connection with music.
TYPE: marching band
PERSONAL: the paneling in this is incredible and the story as a whole is so compelling to read. to be young and obsessed, and always in pursuit, an interest that knocks the wind out of you.
MUSIC RELEVANCE: its the backdrop/occupation of the mc but i think its secondary to the overall story. story focuses more on the improvement of the band/relationships and the strides they take to get themselves out of nugudom.
TYPE: idols
PERSONAL: i like the mystery/intrigue regarding the system and the fact that the original soul of the body inhabited is still sentient and fighting for its life back like thats so interesting. also found family yay

MUSIC RELEVANCE: singing is part of the occupation but this work focuses on the steps into becoming an idol and debuting and takes that seriously. as such music is a constant fixture in the story but it's not the main thing.
TYPE: idols, singing
PERSONAL: i love this story a lot and appreciate its more realistic approach to the idol industry as opposed to the other idol stories in this list. always will love a story where the mc is navigating what they want for themselves
