These are stories with VERY SPECIFIC plots. The classic Cinderella kind where the female lead is initially ostracized by her family, and is forced to marry a "frightful" (but powerful) man who shows her basic human decency for the first time in her life. And through his kindness she learns to love him and herself. 

Everything about these stories IS repetitive, but I eat it up every time lmao
