Manga that explore Gender Identity

The story of Ren, an ambiguous character who can be read as either as a trans girl (how I see her) or a crossdressing boy, and her boyfriend. She also has a sister who's also a trans girl.

Ao no Flag is a beautiful, beautiful manga about choices, coming of age, being a boy, being a girl, homosexuality, heterosexuality, differences between genders... The focus is more on sexuality and adolescence than gender itself, but it is an amazing read.

It's an 80s gag manga so you can expect things like misgendering and other common problematics of the time, but it's overall good on the representation aspect. Hibari is a trans girl and clearly see herself as a woman, even if other characters don't, and due to the fact that it's a comedy manga, there isn't any drama or heavy topics. A light and fun read.

This is a romcom manga about a rich school's "host club". One of the members of said host club, however, can be seen as either a girl or as a non-binary character, since she really does not care about her gender identity, and doesn't mind presenting like a boy at all. Personally I enjoyed the first half more since it's more focused and comedy, and the later more in drama and romance.

While the one transgender character in this series is a murderer, I think she was very well written and presented as a character. GK's author is known to be very LGBT+ friendly in his work, and he has also officially endorsed some BL mangas in his career. Moreover, GK is really a very rich and entertaining story in general.

This short manga (only 30 chapters of 1 page each) is about Yuzu, a trans boy, and how he starts living as a boy in high school. It's very fun and light hearted, and talks about how you don't need to fit in the definitions of what is "normal" for each gender.

The author, Shou Arai, is an intersex agender person.

To Strip The Flesh, the first oneshot in this collection, is the story about Chiaki, a trans man whose father is a hunter. Saying much more than this would spoil the manga, but I really recommend this oneshot.

This short story written by Chii, the same author of the biographical manga Hanayome wa Motodanshi, we follow the story of a little "boy" who wants to be a witch... or is it really what "he" wants? It's all colored and super cute!

The story of Rika, a trans boy who after finally coming out to his mom starts living with an uncle and a cis boy.

Mafuyu Konishi tells the story about her SRS. She has a very nice sense of humour imo and the manga has many funny bits with references to famous works.
