one of my favourite works of all time. two couples, both are equally worth reading.
first couple begins as unrequited love on uke's side. uke is quite a reserved person outwardly so seeing their relationship develop is so fulfilling. second couple is also very precious and cute, childhood friends who have been through everything together. amazing art style
yes yes yes yes yes!
ongoing, so at this juncture we see the seme realising that they are in love with the uke. oh. beautiful art
i was only made aware this is a sequel/ongoing arc with the original story PASSION but honestly i think you can read this just fine without reading the main. enough context clues are given in this story itself to know the background
one of my most revisited mangas on this site. while the original premise of this work feels borderline coercion and with lots of power dynamics (seme makes use of uke's feelings for him), the realisation that seme has for his feelings towards the uke is revealed in a rather pure and momentary way - why does the uke showothers expressions he never shows me?
uke remains as someone who is rather quiet and grounded throughout the story, and seme's feelings continue to grow with each chap
one of my favourites - beautiful art, beautiful plot, beautiful characters
seme chases an ideal "hotaru" from the book he loved since he was a child, and sees the ideal "hotaru" personified in the uke. or does he?
i love the characters so so much i reread this more times than i can remember. i wish there was a side for the couple, i know i would love it too
strong-willed uke who faces hardships in life (family problems resulting in part time jobs, few friendships, scholarship stress, etc.) and falls in love easily with people who are nice to him
unfortunately for him, the seme is nice to everyone and not just him
loved it 10 years ago when i first started reading bl. seme is straightforward, feelings-first, secure, and rather impulsive. uke is entirely the opposite
misunderstandings happen because uke intentionally portrays himself as an indecent person
slight warning, it begins with non-consensual acts (uke forces himself on the seme)
mostly uke's pov at first so we see his unrequited* love for his childhood friend (seme)
*not actually unrequited at any one point in time and everyone and their entire family can see that the seme is in love w the uke except for the uke himself (they both excel in overthinking)
very sweet and fluffy. looking forward to the complete sequel of this work too - alpha trauma!
trust me when i say the seme falls harder for the uke. only 5.5 chapters in total but no panels were wasted in this masterpiece. absolute peak.
touches on homophobia
uke is a breath of fresh air in ways that may give you second-hand embarrassment (but you are unable to dislike him). emotional, responsible, earnest, and unfortunately sometimes a pushover
this is truly one of the works where you can see the seme falling much harder for the uke, and it is acknowledged by other characters in the story. really enjoyed seeing their development
