Psychological BL

I think throughout reading this work I just started to go insane like there's no other way to describe the feeling at all. Just so many things in this story specifically that made my jaw drop there's no exaggeration to this. If you like match made in hell relationships, this is your guy...! Hope you're prepared...! But seriously speaking it's genuinely pretty good and I enjoyed it a bunch.

Anthology of messed up relationships. I think it's definitely a skill to maintain how engaging each short story is for how restricted storytelling might be in such a format. Overall it's pretty alright, Kimura Hidesato has a bunch of other works that also tackle darker narratives, she's pretty good at it too!

Anything I have to say is completely useless—this work will break you no matter what and has been one of the most interesting psychological dramas I've read in my life. The narrative is terribly mature, while the characters, albeit difficult and horrible at a lot of points in story, remain very human at the end of the day. Any more words are just pure glaze it's genuinely that well-written, Baek Daekal is built different this is the Shakespeare of our generation bro

It's never a proper psychological list without Harada. I've reread this work a few times by now, mostly on a whim, and yet it hasn't failed to capture me with its dread at all despite knowing everything. It's never really been a proper love story from the start and that becomes even more blatant once the obsession and cruel feelings start to surface even more. How the love interest manages to sway not only the protagonist but the audience as well...

Ido Gihou is such an underrated gem of an author and anytime I come back to this work on a whim it's this one that gets me the most. I think it tackled the messiness of human relationships and the people within them interestingly with how unnatural the nature of their connection is at the start. Tender feelings born out of consented cruelty is such a concept... I do love you...

It's also not a proper list without Asada Nemui... This was my first exposure to her works and wow was I aghast, her manner of humanizing pretty terrible people and creating meaningful relationships even with how unconventional the dynamic the main characters have will always be amazing to me. Everytime I reread this work it hurts me in such a good way—for two people who are polar opposites, the author manages to make them work nicely together that I feel very attached up until now.

Short but good nonetheless... Mokumokuren's visuals has always provided such good atmosphere and tone towards their darker narratives, most especially seen in their most popular work (which I'm also deeply fond of). If they make any more future stories, I'd love for it be another hopelessly tragic like this one, it's good.

This work haunts me on the most random of days. I feel like it' would've been more solid disregarding one of the extras that reveals a pretty big twist, but anywho I'm still kind of floored with how Tamekou pulls no punches when it comes to a pretty horrifiying depiction of enmeshment between siblings. Not something I would recommend exactly, but it's an interesting story that explores warped familial dynamics.

I usually take a break from reading this since I like stocking up the chapters (and with good reason), the story is just that good. It might be a little hard to read given the subject matter that takes place, but I think it helps emphasize its horror pretty well and never downplays the severity—so many aspects of this story center around tragedy and unfairness that I find really well done. Jakpil's way of visuals set the tone so nicely too.

Read this just recently and oh my god I really should've read this sooner. There's a brutality the queer experience holds and that was shown a lot in this story—there's a lot of nuance and realism preseng here that's tackled with taste, not everyone gets to be happy and unfortunately that's also apparent in real life. It's an incredibly well-written work about queer people and how lonely it feels being that, especially within a small rural area.
