Abt the unification of china(aka the warring states period). The plot follows the king of Qin conquering all 7 states of china from the perspective of a slave boy who dreams of becoming the 'greatest general under the heavens'. Qualityyyy read. The war tactics paired w/ the heavy fight scenes & likeable characters was .
(Tw: war triggers; gore, rape, pedophilia)

An exciting action adventure story with hints of comedic relief and lots of drama. It has a RLLY interesting plot, as well as nicely drawn action scenes & strong, creative characters. Specifically, the two mcs are a fucking vibe-- a dependable and legendary war veteran+ a strong willed Ainu girl-- a great pair whose personalities compliment the story perfectly. GREAT Binge- highly rec~(edit: has an anime)

Takes place just before the french revolution from the perspective of the Sanson family, the infamous executioner family seen as grim reapers who curse anyone they touch. This was drawn digitally, so it could explain why the art is fucking insane. Im ngl, the best thing abt this manga is the art, though the plot wasnt half bad either.(Tw:extreme torture, pedophilic/ Incestuous rape, misogyny)--(Sequel: Innocent Rouge)

A story abt two brothers aiming to become astronauts. I HIGHLY rec this to anyone, especially if you're interested in space. It's able to be indepth & informational while still keeping it a lighthearted and fun read. No shit, i actually have a good idea of what itd be like to venture on the moon after this- & with a very minimal amnt of outside research. A really good read(edit: has an anime)

its dark, comedic, heartwarming, and heartbreaking. It follows the life of a strong, mischievous girl who lives with her rich, depressed father. Its eye opening and just an overall GOOD read with REALLY well written characters and drama.-- highly recommend~ (tw: racism and misogyny- setting is in the 1800s).

A DISGUSTINGLY wholesome story about dealing with loss and single parenthood. A father and son finally strengthen their bonds after the tragic death of the mother. It showcases the struggle of being a single parent who desperately wants to, but doesn't know how to communicate with their child. I got abt 9 ulcers while reading this bc of how cute it was. the rest of the time...i cried. HIGHLY rec

(Prequel: Umibe no Etranger) Has unexpectedly nostalgic vibes & it properly showcases the internal struggles of the mcs. its bittersweet in the beginning but with the bitterness fading away the more you read. A really pleasant slice of life with realistic characters and small comedic qualities to it that genuinely made me laugh- Highly rec(tw: f slur )

A highschool drama about different teens experiencing what it means to be a part of society and the struggle and restriction that comes with being a "normal" part of it. includes dynamic characters that speak on topics such as sexism and homophobia. Personally would've preferred an alt ending, but its still a quality read Highly rec--(btw the art-- )

Thank you so much!
I feel like bambino manga would suit your list? It's about cooking, but realistic.
