I didn't really pay attention to the 2nd story but the first story was so much interesting mental gymnastics?? Like this felt like mind games to me. I mean, I could just be stupid but the way they acted and things they did had me on edge constantly and that's why this is on the list. I loved the experience
Honestly I loved how it all tied up nicely in the end. It was a nice tragedy to watch unfold and I thought it was cool seeing multiple perspectives culminating into one single messed-up big event of a climax. It was just a lot of fun. Also, gorgeous art and a lot of mystery and intrigue
Tw: incest from some bros but it's a part of the story rather than just gratuitous sex. Also non-con and one mostly off screen r*pe scene so be careful
Anyways, so is this one messed up as heck with angsty emotions? Yes. This is basically a yakuza setting that revolves around 4 people we care about and a couple side characters I don't care about. There's a lot of depressing themes that remind me vaguely of the Oedipus complex too but overall it's got very interesting themes as a story
Tw: Coercion, stalking, threatening, blackmailing, isolating. Pls take care of yourself.
This is a dark story about a naive, rich kid getting coerced by his roommate. What I liked about it was that by the end of season 1, we got some retribution for our mc and there wasn't a bs "love" plot. He feels like a victim of abuse even when he is guilted into trying to defend the abuser. (This will leave the list if victim blaming occurs, however, I will not stand for that)
Haha this is horrific and depressing but I enjoyed the journey a lot and it had some cute moments of our main leads interacting amidst the depression
This was such angst, just the setting of these 2 being unable to be together because they're courtesans. I loved this so much, so beautiful with the emotions of it
Legit, this was so well written with such an interesting storyline and adorable ending. We had to get through a lot of angst before that tho so beware
Honestly, they are terrible but hilarious and you will definitely start rooting for them eventually. This is a great read
This is gl but like.... the vibes were THERE. Loved this, it was short but interesting, really ripped into my gut nicely
I'm not sure how well the disability is handled personally since I don't have the same disabilities but it's lovely seeing two characters learn to connect with each other
