I've seen a lot of hate directed towards effiminate characters especially uke in BL stories. Often mocked as annoying/crybaby/weak.
I believe that being a strong character is not about muscles and/or masculinity. It's about pushing trough shits in life and getting back up on those heels no matter if you are a scaredy cat, wimpy, crybaby, annoying uke.
I love how relatable this manga is. The story is from the uke's POV, he's a bit jaded and indifferent probably due to a few failed relationships. He wanted to find a lifelong partner, love is no longer his priority. The main characters met at a speed dating event. A lot of aspects of the story is a reflections of real life. The presence of same sex marriage, the MCs talked about possibly having kids through adoption or surrogate. The romance and drama is slow burn, it's great.
