My plot overview: Seung-hee is a gay guy that likes to crossdress, uses dating sites, and has to deal with sleezy jerks all the time. He's strong and stands up for himself though. Unfortunately, his family wasn't very accepting after finding out, he was too scared to get close to anyone else, and ended up becoming a loner by choice. Later, he gets involved with two guys who seem to have history: Seung-taek and Kyubin.
The uke experiences the harshness of coming out, closeted gay dudes trying to experiment with him, and avoiding his feelings because dating as a gay person isn't as easy as hetero couples.
Not exactly a tear jerker but I did cry when Yuyang's family talked to him about his sexuality and other times ;-;
My plot overview: Hakdo and Sangho bond over their countless trashy exes and end up having casual sex while exploring eachothers kinks naturally. Sangho likes to crossdress and while his brother may not understand it, Sangho knows it's hard so he doesn't try to force him to understand. Hakdo falls in love with his straight best friend and goes to Sangho, trying to move on.
My plot overview: Subin ends up falling in love with his straight friend and things get awkward when he confesses while drunk. Hate Mate portrays (gay) relationships realistically like the wacky rollercoaster it is. The mc can be a bit dramatic at times but I don't blame him. Now that they're out of college, they left their rose-colored lenses in the past and see things more realistically now. Not everyone's crush loves them back.
Gong Shiwoo has been secretly living on the school’s rooftop when an encounter with student Cha Hajin and his subsequent daily visits put an end to the teenager’s privacy. It doesn’t take long for him to stop minding Hajin’s presence though, and soon a special bond begins to form between the two teenagers.
*tearjerker*
my summary with a spoiler oops:
a student who's bullied for being gay tries to commit suicide because he's not accepted
my plot overview: a gay couple naturally start dating and try to figure out what they like in sex together
This one is a pure and cute one that exists in a society where it's normal to be gay.
this is more of a drama so it has realistic aspects like the parents not accepting their relationship (they were step-brothers and gay on top of that) and how the uke can't fall in love properly/as easily like a hetero couple might be able to.
I feel like I need to give yall an angst warning lol
"An exploration of what it means to be kind without expectation of anything in return."
Hasegawa Yuiji accidentally finds out that his classmate, Yoshinaga Yamato, is gay. Eventually, he realises Yamato's gaze is directed towards an unattainable love. From a study group together Yuiji finds out that Yamato is a pretty nice guy, and despite his awkwardness, starts wishing for his happiness.
*gay, crossdresser/genderfluid, *tearjerker*
Mishima is bullied by his classmates. The reason is because he's seemingly gay. In reality, Mishima does like guys so he doesn't resist their bullying. Instead, he finds solace in secretly cross-dressing. One day, Mishima finds the lipstick he'd lost before in the hands of Kirino, one of the bullies. Kirino was about to put on the lipstick that Mishima used on his lips. A story of young boys looking for a place they can be themselves

added! seems rlly sweet
You should change the list name to Realistic Representation of Gay Men with a Small Splash of Gender Identity and Lesbian Stories. There isn't enough of a mix in genre on here as it mostly consists of yaoi. Just FYI and I mean absolutely no offense by it. As far as yuri realistic rep, check out What Does The Fox Say?, Aoi Hana, Ohana Holoholo, Asagao to Kase-San and the sequel, Lily Love 1 & 2, Serenade, Octave or Cresent Moon & Doughnuts. I don't have any to recommend for gender identity issues as there is a very small amount of those manga that are done correctly.
I reccomend Timeless Melody loved the list ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
thank you so much for the rec it's added now I loved it >~<
