Minato is a third year middle schooler with a girly face. He came out of the closet in front of his family and told them that he is gay...since then his mother started bringing him cute/girly things which somehow dissapointed & hurt Minato's feeling. Living beside beach his family runs a bread & breakfast where he meets a new guest Naoki Oisaka whom he started feeling comfortable with.
Fumi and Akira were best friends when they were little, with Akira always looking after the crybaby Fumi, but that all ended when Fumi's family moved away. Several years later, Fumi's family returned. She happened to bump into Akira on their way to school. They became friends again, quickly slipping back into old patterns. Shortly after, Fumi began dating a cool, attractive upperclassman who also had ties to Akira's current school, the prestigious Fujigaya Girls' Academy.
I loved this! I think each decision the characters made were justified by their emotions which were clearly explained. The author chose to center the story around how both the characters dealt with their feelings so yeah I kinda teared up with how frustratingly realistic it was.
**The uke commits adultery and some readers don't like him for that but personally I think the author wrote it well in a way that I never blamed him for it
On his way back from work on Christmas night, Yamada(26) discovers a drunk and crying high school boy and takes him home. That boy was mulling over being in love with someone of the same sex.
A straight adult and a gay high-schooler.
It is a piece that sets gender aside as their hearts grow ever closer. =
>Mita Ori I love you I want to frame all of your works and stare at them forever how are they so fluffy sweet and yet emotional ;-; go and check out the mangaka's other works!
A realistic approach to a homosexual relationship through a drama~
The personal story of an aspiring mangaka, college dropout who's led a lonesome, unfulfilling life. (real)
The mangaka's transgender, gender re-assignment surgery story
Most of the story is pretty light-hearted (isn't extremely serious and boring) but it still talks about her experiences realistically and it's a pretty heavy topic anyways.
A biographical manga about a married lesbian couple who decide to have a baby, from the creators of Lesbian-teki Kekkon Seikatsu.
Comic essays on the gay industry and LGBT issues by Mochigi, who first worked in the industry as a gay prostitute in Shinjuku Ni-chome, Tokyo, and has since worked in gay bars and gay videos.

https://www.mangago.me/read-manga/mom_i_m_gay/
added! seems rlly sweet
You should change the list name to Realistic Representation of Gay Men with a Small Splash of Gender Identity and Lesbian Stories. There isn't enough of a mix in genre on here as it mostly consists of yaoi. Just FYI and I mean absolutely no offense by it. As far as yuri realistic rep, check out What Does The Fox Say?, Aoi Hana, Ohana Holoholo, Asagao to Kase-San and the sequel, Lily Love 1 & 2, Serenade, Octave or Cresent Moon & Doughnuts. I don't have any to recommend for gender identity issues as there is a very small amount of those manga that are done correctly.
I reccomend Timeless Melody loved the list ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
thank you so much for the rec it's added now I loved it >~<
