favorite manga

I legit cannot even begin to explain my love and adoration for this manga. It is magnificent. I have never come across e better written story in any form of media. How the mangaka writers her characters, the world they live in, the plot development of every single one of their stories, the inclusion of flashbacks and foreshadowing, and even the creator's art style is IMMACULATE. I love every single thing about this manga. It's beautiful.

Kubo is a master story-teller. Say what you want about him but his character design both within personality and physical appearance are so unique. Every single character is his or her own person. The characters and their world are so distinct, its so easy to fall in love with them, especially with a plot that revolves around gripping action sequences and quirky character interactions. Bleach has me crying, screaming, laughing and smiling like an idiot. I love this manga and its characters sm!

This story of childhood emotions and identity has struck me to my core. Following not only the main cast of Taichi, Touma, and Futaba through their important high school years where they consider love, friendship, reality, the future, and their own being, but also very impactful side characters, readers gain an amazing sense of every character's personality and psyche. Somehow this is one of the most comfortable yet emotional reads for me. I have related to characters time and time again as they struggle with insecurities, fail to meet expectations, and simply experience life at its highest and lowest moments. I think of this series and its characters very fondly as I can immerse myself entirely into any given game and any character's life and emotions. The feel of this story is simply real and refreshing. You wouldn't think that a manga simply about baseball would have me as emotionally attached and mentally captivated as this does, but holy hell what can I say this is some amazingly entertaining story-telling. All of the players and teams are so likeable. I feel their motivation, desire, and pain all with them. I am so invested in this story with laughter and tears.

There's just something special about the feel of this story. Perhaps it's the nostalgia I get from the dragon narrative, having been obsessed with the mythical creatures as a young child, or perhaps its the simple yet peacefully moving art plot and characterization within the story. Nothing crazy ever happens in this manga but I think that's the intrigue of it. It's just people living their lives and finding a purpose through the thrill of hunting and the freedom of flying
