yankees & yakuzas

this is the catalyst of yakuza bls. our lovable and violently shameless protagonist and uke gotouda aki is quick to fall in love and our seme, ueda tomoharu, is no stranger to this starting from the very first chapter. however, their love is somewhat of a perplexity because aki is next in line to be head of yakuza house gotouda, and ueda is your average policeman.

the series mostly follows the two after their relationship has been established. this is my all-time favorite. reread like 20 times

tsugumi is our sanpaku yankee omega, but by no means is he meek and submissive. he's actually a total badass who walks out in public in heat, but supresses said heat with his sheer willpower.

despite it being super sexy and all, i tend to shy away from abo simply because the rape-y undertones can all get to be a little much. this one however, is one of the best and one of the healthiest relationships (aside from the infuriating naiveities of the mcs) i've read. also super funny.

our seme sho-an is a grumpy old doctor who finds love in an ex-prostitute turned badass swordsman named yuki after bringing him back to life on a cold winter's day. yuki starts living with him and sho-an soon learns he can't live without him. this is a story about healing and learning to love again.

such a beautiful manga! literally had me kicking my sheets with how sweet it was. so glad i took a chance on it despite not being totally into the art style. i learned to love it.

it all starts as a glaring misunderstanding (literally) where our ordinary mc shima thinks resident delinquent ryuunosuke hates him. it really isn't the case at all because ryuunosuke just glares in place of embarrassment and he's really just a softie who adores kittens as much as shima does.

really cute!!! one of my faves. art style makes everyone look sanpaku and it's kind of adorable. nothing about their relationship felt forced or rushed. love love love it.

such a fresh concept! a newly ex-yakuza sudou is trying to turn over a new leaf and finds a new career as a bl mangaka... in comes his editor who repeatedly tells him his drafts are bad and offers his help to aid in... giving him bl experience!

the art is so clean and pretty and i like the dynamic. also yakuza BOTTOM AND hes a HIMBO. this is a winner.

terano is in the student council and shu is a yankee delinquent… could i make it any more obvious? terano gets asked to help mentor shu in his second year and then falls for him! they start dating into their third year because they’ll be split into different classes and terano is afraid of being separated from him.

OKAY REAL TALK this is so wholesome and their relationship is so CUTE. the art is amazing too. a win for yankee lovers. i was kicking the sheets yall.
