Technically not really a bl, considering how all-encompassing it is for the lgbtq+ community.
I really wanted to write about what made this manga such a wonderful, unique, and inclusive experience, but words couldn't really do it justice. I just wish that 10 years from now, when i reread this manga, I will be able to look back and feel contend with how far my life has become. "Our Dreams at Dusk" is a hope for a better future, and i wonder what kind of reality it would be. 5/5
One of my fav bl works of all time. Yes season 2 might not have been as good as season 1 (where were Jiyu & Chanyoung? Wtf happened to Sunwoo & Dahm), but few can compete with Season 1 perfection anyway.
This coming of age manhwa captures the longing that closeted gay people experience in their lives. As the story progresses, Heesu learns a lot of things about himself and people around him, which gives him confidence in finding his own identity and also perhaps..love of his own. 5/5
One of the most unique story structure in bl. The first half is a cute love story between two friends, but it's the wonderful second half that truly captivates me.
Seunghee is complex, he's bitchy, bratty, sarcastic, level-headed but also prone to be consumed by his own emotion. Reading his journey of self discovery as he slowly opens his heart to all the possibilities in the world is the most i've ever been invested in any bl. 5/5
Onoe and Kaburagi are my favorite bl couple of all time, and there's no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Onoe in particular is a standout character for me, an idealistic tsundere with a heart of gold and strong sense of self who doesn't back down from what he believes in. The way his relationship with Kaburagi develops from incompatible coworkers to dynamic duo to "will they won't they" possible couple to inseparable lovers is just something magical. 5/5
One word to describe this manga: Beautiful.
The first volume tells the story of developing relationship within gay hookup culture. It's lonely, it's uncertain, but the gelato store is always there to welcome the two leads.
The second volume tells the after story, what happens after the relationship has gone steady. There's a confession from Tomo near the end of the story, that's so incredibly profound and touching, and it cemented this manga as one of my all-time favs. 5/5
First of all, versatile couple is the best yes? This manhwa is possibly the hottest bl i've ever read, simply because of how good the chemistry between the two leads is. The conversations between Sangho and Hakdo flow so naturally, and "natural" is definitely the word that best describes this manhwa.
The unrequited love angle is also handled really well here. Time heals all wounds, but the sweet memories will always linger, and it's ok to treasure that. 5/5
Few manga have affected me as much as this one. Painful, heartbreaking, and yet also hopeful and introspective. I won't say much more, please read it and prepare to cry your guts out. 5/5
The BL world would be so much better with more stories of persistent uke and tsundere seme like this one. I aspire to be as confident as Haruna someday.
I can do without the slap in one of the later chapters, but this manga is almost perfect aside from that. One of my all time fav for sure. 5/5
Heartwarming. Wholesome. I really appreciate how the story doesn't use cheap drama to develop the relationship between the two leads, rather it revolves around the effort that both parties need to make to maintain their relationship.
The story also dwells into the issue of coming out in a conservative society without being judgmental about it. Overall a very mature work from the author that i'll reread for years to come. 5/5
The most impactful panel in the manhwa for me is the last one on chapter 60. Not about Ed and Glen's relationship, nor Chang or Ryan, rather, it shows a random woman on the street who's trying to console Ed. She doesn't even know who he is nor his problem, but it shows Ed that no matter how shitty his life was, is, and perhaps will be in the future, there will still be some unexpected kindness that will surprise him along the way; and that's what the essence of life is. 5/5.
