Found this by chance. The light tones and pastel-like color are a bit of a change from the normal color palettes I see in like manhwa or manhua. I could see this style being like illustrations and prints. Heck, I might even try to study this style bc some of its aspects are rlly pleasing to me. I think another thing I notice is the lack of line variety. What I mean is thick versus thin lines. The line art is pretty much the same? It makes it flatter along with just how the shading works.
I can’t really explain it but this mangaka’s style is so captivating. They use a lot of thin lines and the faces of the ukes are always reallly soft? Proportions are a little wack at times but they really capture expressions well. You don’t see that in some BL which makes it more refreshing, I suppose.
I am a FOOL for good expressions and a cute ass blush. That being said, the cover art color palette also is lovely. Primary colors with a focus on blue makes the red/pink of the uke’s hair pop out and the English text as well. The lighter values versus the dark values of the seme’s design also makes sure he stands out. In the manga itself, I can see a variety of line usage that is pretty loose? Not a sketchy quality but not rigid. It makes the characters have a more flow look.
The anatomy being more soft and squishy in comparison to the rigid lines you see in other BL? Delicious. Especially with bondage. I also love the facial expressions the mangaka draws the characters having. Oh and the blush? I absolutely adore it.
This author’s style is another I love a lot. They do ultra thin linework with rlly simplistic yet well rendered shading. Also the anatomy just makes me blush some times djjdjdjfjjd. They also do facial expression and blushes well which is a plus in my books ^_^
THE MANGAKA. They hit all my favorite points as well!! They facial expression and blushes are stunning. Proportions sometimes can be wack but that doesn’t stop me from absolutely loving it.
Having the more painterly feel despite being black and white. I can see the manhwa style with the figures but mixed with how the shading, linework, and background makes it unique.
