- i think this is probably the only manhwa on this list with zero supernatural elements but it still owns! this story is based on realism, and the cynical realist MC is no exception. due to his past, the MC ends up at a highschool famous for its delinquents, gang activity, and barely restrained violence. despite being smaller and unassuming looking, the MC will use anything he can to win a fight (even if it means playing dirty).

- honestly.. it’s overrated. i decided to include it for posterity’s sake but if you want a skeleton OP? read skeleton soldier. you want a MC who becomes their evil videogame character? read yasei no last boss ga arawareta. you want a monster mc who everyone thinks is evil when they’re actually just chilling? read kumo desu ga nani ka

- if your favourite part of an OP MC is the weak to strong journey, keep reading. unfortunately the manga was ended abruptly by the author for personal reasons (at ch 22) so the plot never had much of a chance to develop, but if you want a quick read full of the best tropes of the genre and a protag that ISNT obnoxious.. eden is for you!

- MC starts off as a child raised by three “monsters” in an empty castle and under mysterious circumstances. although he spends the first fifteen years of his life far away from other people, he is happy and his guardians take care of him lovingly. can MC overcome the regrets of his past life or will this life end the same? major tearbreaker :’(

- nonhuman protag!!!!!! mc is a wandering spirit with the ability to possess living creatures who don’t have a strong mental barrier, rendering them practically immortal. they have no memories and no idea of where they are at first. it isn’t until MC possesses a demon wolf that they find out that they’ve been stuck in a dungeon where human adventurers go to kill monsters. completed!

- sick of repetitive settings but still want a MC who can kick ass? read this manhua!!!! set in a future where humans are extinct after two massive alien devices land on earth, all of humanity’s descendants now fall prey to one of two diseases: one that gradually turns you into a robot or one that gradually turns you into a beast. art is beautiful, translations are good, characters are well developed!

- ok so pretty much.. after MC witnesses the end of humanity after his world is overrun with monsters from a reverse isekai labyrinth, he is sent a couple decades back into the past. he doesn’t really become OP (he has little talent for magic) but he uses his knowledge and leadership to do his best to protect the entirety of civilization. very much shonen not seinen

- MC is just one member of a group of humans that are summoned by an “omnipotent” guardian and forced to pass a dungeon’s test. just before they finish, MC falls into a pit trap, and is stuck there when the rest of the survivors pass on to the next level. however, when the dungeon resets for the next test group, MC is still stuck & eventually he finds a way to outwit the evil system.

- MC was a kind person, despite all the horrible things he had to go through in life. as a reward, a group of gods reincarnate him into a western fantasy world, with all the skills necessary to make his life easy. slice of life and feel good story, pure fluff. MC suffered so much... if there was anyone who ever deserved to be reincarnated completely OP’d, it’s him!
