Unrequited love is my favorite trope in yaoi manga. The reader gets to look into a character's one-sided feelings, their insecurity and vulnerability with those feelings, and how they often keep it to themselves in fear of being rejected. Since I am quite empathetic, I can't help but relate to and feel the pain. I've read I shit ton more of this type but I'm narrowing down this list to the ones I find to be the best. I've tagged all of the ones I've read with "unrequited love" in my read list.
Uggggh it was getting so good! The first 6 chapters basically make up my ideal unrequited love story: step-brothers that both have feelings for each other but both think its one-sided (lawlz as if). The art is just decent and the story is pretty typical and fluffy but the sexual tension is subtle but really tugs the heart strings. AND ALL OF THAT AND FOR WHAT?! A CRAPPY HALF-ASSED NOT-REALLY-A-CONFESSION CONFESSION? UGGGHHHH IT WAS SO CLOSE TO BECOMING A FAVORITE BUT OF COURSE IT HAD TO GET RUIN
